What Is "Motorized" Home Theater Seating?
The optional power or motorized home theater chair will recline effortlessly into any position via a motor. This lets you control the precise angle of incline for optimal comfort and viewing angle, resulting in a seat that is custom-set to your height. Non-motorized home theater seats recline via a pushback or manual side arm to the recliner. If you choose the motorized option, all pieces or recliners in that set will be motorized at this time, we cannot motorize only one chair in a group.
What Are Bass Shakers?
Low bass, which is primarily felt rather than heard, creates vibrations in the seat and body that add impact and drama to on-screen visual and sound elements. Bass shakers cause seats to resonate and shake in coordination with the soundtrack bass without compromising the effects of audible sound levels. Shakers are hidden in chair backs to maintain clean lines and an elegant look in your home theater seating. There's no extra clutter.

What Are Space Savers or Wall Huggers?
If you're like most of our customers, you probably don't have infinite amounts of space to work with for your home theater. If you want a lot in limited space, space saver and wall hugger models may be the answer. You can place these innovative seats just a few inches from the wall and still kick back in a full recline.
How Is This Possible?
The chair does not drop the back portion of the seat straight back, as a traditional recliner does, but actually pushes the chair down and forward as it reclines, thus making way for the reclined backrest.
Space savers or wall huggers are not only great in tight spaces, but also in rows of home theater seating. When these seats recline, they won't interfere with the row behind them.
Since I'm ordering home theater seating online, what kind of assembly can I expect?
Ninety percent of the home theater seating we sell ships via common carrier, and the only assembly necessary is to insert the wedges or straight arms between the chairs. There's nothing to it.
What do I need to know about the construction of home theater seating?
Frames
The life of any piece of furniture begins with its frame. Long-lasting furniture is constructed of hardwoods that have been processed with quality in mind. Additionally, the frame needs to be well-reinforced using any of several age-old techniques of joining, blocking, fastening, and doweling.
Wood Types
You may never see the wood used to create the frame of your upholstered furniture. But you should know whether a hardwood or softwood was used. Softwoods, plastic, metal, plywood, and particle board may work well in some settings, but they are simply not sturdy enough to support the joinery that is required for the highest quality furniture. The tight graining of hardwoods allows for pegs, screws, and nails to be set securely so they won't come loose over time. Hardwoods include Oak, Alder, Maple, and other woods with tight graining. Also, look for woods that have been kiln-dried.
What's kiln-drying?
Kiln-drying is an extra process during which the wood is heated in an industrial oven to yield several benefits:
· It removes excess sap and moisture, which can cause frames to warp.
· It prevents wood from absorbing any moisture in the future that may cause the frame to swell, shrink, or change shape, which can loosen joints and fastenings.
· It is the best for ensuring long-term stability and shape-retention. It minimizes splitting and warping throughout the life of the furniture.
What size seats should I choose for my home theater?
Determining the appropriate size for your Home Theater Seating is very important. There are a number of factors you should consider when making these custom decisions.
· How you sit and feel in your home theater seating will determine your overall comfort. Get out a tape measure and test different sizes of furniture before ordering. Write down the dimensions of your favorites and then shop for comparable home theater seating in our lines.
