Convenience is king these days and it is a focal point for the new wave of people converting their family rooms and dens into luxurious
home theaters. Why worry about finding parking at the movie theater when you can sit back and relax in the comfort of your own home in the most comfortable seat in the house: a
home theater recliner. Households across the country are realizing the benefits and superb convenience that creating a home cinema room provides you and your family—plus you don’t have to break the bank!
Trusted and respected theater seat and theater recliner brands like
Berkline,
Palliser,
Bass,
Coaster and
Lovan have created affordable
theater seating options for you and your family to transform your TV room into a luxurious home entertainment room. Considering big screen TV prices keep falling and their technological quality keeps rising, who would want to hassle with the movie theater anymore? Home theaters and game rooms also help keep the family together and under the safety of your own roof, plus you control the viewing experience by setting up your home media room to your preferences.
Setting up your
home theater seating configuration isn’t rocket science but there are some excellent rules of thumb to follow.
- Did you know that by cutting down on the number of doors, windows or any open space where sound can escape will heighten the audio experience of your home theater room? That’s right, rooms should minimize the square foot area where sound can leave the room and pick a room that is as rectangular as possible. These hints will enhance the true audio “play” of the sound track because you are helping the acoustics by giving the sound waves an symmetrical path to travel and bounce.
- In addition, you want to make sure your home cinema room can keep unwanted noises out: unwanted environmental noises will ruin your listening experience! We also suggest that when setting up your home theater chairs, consider how this will work with your surround sound speakers.
- Depending on what surround sound system you are using, the number of speakers you have will vary but you should remember to place all dialogue and sound effect speakers at the front of the room near your TV, or flat panel screen. The subwoofer should be placed behind your theater seats (preferably the first row) and to complete the surround sound experience, place two last speakers behind the theater chairs in the back of the room in opposite corners. Some of our home theater seats offer a Bass Shaker or ButtKicker option upgrade so that you can actually “feel” like you are in the movie with vibrations that are synchronized with the sound from what you are watching.
- Preferably, if you have multiple rows of theater seats, you will want to create ascending level steps so that the front row seats don’t block out the view for the last row seats. Remember to check the screen view from all home seats so that everyone can enjoy the show!
- Getting the proper layout of the theater seats in the room is the most important part and it starts with measuring your room to make sure the seats will have ample room. If you have multiple rows of theater chairs, make sure you account for the fully extended recline position of the home theater seat. You don’t want to strain your neck by positioning the seats to close to the screen, so make sure to check that your eye naturally falls on the center of the screen without tilting your head up or down from a seated position.
